What are dermal fillers? 💉

But they’re not just for wrinkles. “With the rise of Superhero movies, men want more defined jaws, higher cheekbones and a stronger looking face. This can be achieved with a few strategic injections” says Dr. Costi. “And on the upside, the fillers will dissolve within a few months, so there’s no remorse in case the patient changes his mind.”

Men’s injectables are also a successful option for men who need to: harmonize their face, reduce under eye bags, under eye hollowness, smooth a wrinkled forehead, lift saggy cheeks.

How is the procedure done? 🦸‍♂️

During your consultation with Dr. Costi, you will discuss what you wish to achieve with the fillers and he will advise you on the best treatment for your case.

Once you both agree, the whole procedure is not more than a few minutes. An anesthetic may be administered and then a series of small injections are made to place the filler.

As a result, you can immediately see improved volume and lifting. However, there might be some swelling or bruising which is natural. It may take up to two weeks before you see the final result of the treatment, when the swelling or bruising have disappeared.

Most dermal fillers last six-to-nine months, at which time, patients will require a touch-up treatment.

How are treatments different for men and women?

It is critical to understand the male facial anatomy, in order to achieve a result that is balanced and does not feminize the male face. A skilled and experienced doctor will know which type of filler to use as well as where to place it.

For male patients to preserve a masculine facial structure, a thicker and more viscous filler will be used to account for men’s denser skin and larger bones.
