So whether you’re going out, having a Zoom date, on lockdown or travelling, how about we fall in love with a healthy and glowing skin routine that will have you looking your best wherever you are on the 14th of February?

💕We asked Dr. Costi for some tips to have great skin this Valentine’s Day.

1. Start cleansing regularly 1 week ahead

To remove dead skin, excess oil as well as pollution and dirt that clog your pores. The best way to insure a great cleansing is by using a gentle wash or cleanser with salicylic acid.
If you’re worried about breakouts or acne, you can use a product containing benzoyl peroxide which reduces any appearance of inflammation.

2. Start using a mask 3 nights ahead

There are masks for all kinds of skin needs, and of course we have some favorites.
Clay mask: these unplug pores and help mattify your skin. They’re great if you have an oily complexion.
Sheet mask: this fan favorite is a great way to help your skin soak-up hydration. They’re recommended for dry skin that needs help glowing.
Overnight mask: as you sleep, this cream will work to replenish your skin and repair your skin barrier. You’ll wake up with a revitalized face.

3. Look at your lips 1 day ahead 👄

Don’t forget the lips! A gentle lip scrub will remove dead skin cells and improve how they look and feel. Smooth lips will also allow for a perfect application of your luscious lipstick!
If you don’t have a lip scrub, you can make your own at home. Just mix some brown sugar with honey and gently massage with a toothbrush. Leave it on for a few minutes then gently remove for perfect lips.
And don’t forget to always hydrate after scrubbing.

4. Be extra gentle on Valentine’s Day

Now your skin a plump canvas ready to become a masterpiece! Today be extra gentle with it by simply cleansing and hydrating. Use products that will help minimize your pores and that can be a good base for your makeup. A light moisturizer that will help plump your skin, will also act as a primer for your makeup by giving your complexion a natural glow.
If you’re looking for a multi-tasking product, a good idea would be to use a foundation with skin care benefits that works double as coverage and skin repair.

5. Ready to WoW

We know we haven’t really been using much makeup lately, but Here is your excuse to have fun and make yourself Up even if it’s for just a selfie! Tonight is the night! Go bold, go lashes, go red lips, go highlight, the whole nine yards!
