Autumn’s here, it’s back to school, and life as we knew it before lockdown is slowly resuming isn’t it? Thankfully, we were so ready for that. However, how’s our skin looking?
Just like we change and adapt our skin care routine from hot weather to cold weather, it’s the same when it comes to skin care procedures at the clinic. And it couldn’t fall at a better time as a lot of these need you to stay away from the sun.
We asked Dr. Costi to inform us about the best treatments for the fall and winter season.
After a long summer of heat, pollution and sun, it’s time to correct sun damage and give your skin a little refresh with treatments that address hyperpigmentation, rebuilding the skin’s barrier and rejuvenating any loss of definition.
If you need a boost of collagen: to improve fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, scars and stretch marks.
Also known as collagen induction, Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that has kept gaining popularity over the years.
With soft sterilized needles, microscopic punctures are created in the skin for rejuvenation. As your body quickly works to heal these punctures, your skin becomes plump and looks more youthful than ever.
If you need a quick and efficient skin resurfacing treatment for smoother, brighter skin, and a relief from maskne.
This non-invasive treatment penetrates the skin to encourage the growth of elastin and collagen. It’s an aggressive treatment that really can get rid of some impossible scars like acne scars (pockmarks).
Once you do the consultation with Dr. Costi, he will decide whether you need an ablative or non-ablative treatment, depending on your skin.
Ablative lasers wounds the skin and removes the outer layer (your skin peels off then heals within a week). As examples of this you have the CO2 and YAG lasers.
Non-ablative lasers will only heat-up the tissue beneath your skin to stimulate collagen. A good example of this is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).
If you suffer from ingrown hair or skin pigmentation, and wish to permanently get rid of body hair on your face and body.
The hair removal laser works by sending light through the hair pigment which turns to heat and damages the hair follicle and hair bulb. So bye-bye hair and hello smooth skin!
You have to stay away from the sun, but also you’ll need to wait for your tan to fade before you can have the procedure (if you have a tan).
We’re very happy to say that you can get these anytime in summer or winter, isn’t that good to know?
