Oh baby the heat! Here’s the summer sun and the sea and sand and…sweltering heat ☀️☀️☀️
This humidity and change in weather can have a stressful effect on our bodies especially at the beginning of the season. But fear not, Dr. Costi is here to save your days and nights.
Beauties, if you’re sweating instead of glowing, we’ve got some skin care and beauty tips for you to soak up the positive vibes without the frizzled hair and fried skin!
Let’s get you from stressed to stunning with 6 summer beauty tips.
Dr. Costi’s number 1 golden rule that we will never stop repeating: wear sunscreen.
You have No Excuse not to wear sun protection especially that it comes in so many options from creams to spray to powder.
For face and body, don’t keep the SPF from year to year! Expiry dates are there for a reason. And don’t leave home without it!
Lifeless locks or frizzy hair? Summertime means extra love is needed for a gorgeous mane. We love serums, creams and oils that will lock moisture and give you effortless glossy tresses.
In summer just like in winter, Dr. Costi reminds us that it’s important to regularly protect our most delicate areas of the face. “As you know, your skin is most delicate around the eyes and lips” he says which is why other than wearing sunscreen we should also stay very well hydrated.
Keep it natural and beautiful! Especially in the summer, you want to make sure that the products you are using are non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog your pores. Ideally, all your products should be light, oil free and as natural as possible. Check your makeup labels and make sure they will not occlude your skin.
For more summery options, try switching from foundation to a CC cream.
From beach to gym to hike to going out, your summer activities may require more than 1 shower per day. But! Here’s your reminder to not overdo it with hot showers as “Hot water has a drying effect on your skin and can lead to inflammation and eczema” as per Dr. Costi.
Everything is best done in moderation, especially exfoliation, unless you have oily skin in summer. To avoid drab patches or even acne, your exfoliation game must be on point. Start with once a week at least, using a good alpha-hydroxy acid or glycolic acid which are not too harsh on the skin.
And after exfoliating “It’s very important to moisturize with a light cream or gel, even if your skin feels oily” specifies Dr. Costi.
