Radiant skin, invisible pores and a glowing complexion? Yes please! With so many advances in technology every year, we can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring. Non-invasive beauty treatments are now so advanced and complex that they replace many surgeries, bestowing on us all the benefits of beauty without any of the pain. Who said we had to suffer to be beautiful?
With new treatments launching all the time, we couldn’t wait to find out what 2019 had in store for us. So we sat for a chat with our favorite dermatologist Dr Costi, to discuss some of the new beauty trends for 2019.
Botox 2.0
While Botox is the king of everything, it’s now time for Botox B-type 2.
With the new and upgraded toxin, it takes less dosage to achieve the same results, and it lasts longer which is good for both the doctor and the patient: While the doctor uses less product in terms of dosage, and the patient will need less treatments.
Frotox
This is essentially a cryotherapy facial, but has been given its nickname due to its tightening and smoothing abilities. It involves using targeted jets of dry ice (liquid nitrogen) onto the face to gradually lower the temperature of the skin from around 35°C, to around 7°C. This process causes vaso-restriction, where the blood vessels to the skin shrink, allowing a reduction in redness, inflammation and puffiness. While all skin types can benefit from the soothing effect, the treatment is especially effective on skins with inflammatory conditions like acne and rosacea.
Lip lift
Until now fillers have been the best way to achieve the desired effect of enhanced lips.
The lip lift is a permanent procedure – typically done under local anaesthesia in less than an hour, explains Dr. Costi.
This operation shortens the space between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lips. It helps to raise the lips’ edges and creates a more natural, plumper appearance as well as adding definition to the Cupid’s bow.
Definitely a very natural result that we can expect many women to go for.
4D Mapping
After the rise in virtual reality 3D imaging to help improve decision-making around cosmetic procedures, 2019 will now see advances in 4D technology taking the benefits of 3D consultations to the next level.
What this means is you can see accurate results of your cosmetic procedure, whether a few fillers or a surgery, before going anywhere near a needle.
This will be a big a big step forward for body surgeries like breast augmentation and reconstruction, because it will enable patients to select implants to fit their anatomy, as well as helping them see how their breasts would appear.
Ultrasonic Nose Job
After the amazing results of the non-invasive rhinoplasty, it’s now time for “Ultrasonic rhino-sculpture”. Becoming increasingly popular, it promises faster recoveries and more precise results. By using a probe-like device that emits ultrasonic energy, surgeons accurately shape the nose minimizing the damage to the cartilage or soft tissue.
The high-tech procedure is best for eliminating bumps, narrowing the nasal bridge and correcting a deviated septum, with bruising and swelling subsiding after around two weeks.
