Autumn is a time for change, for a beautiful new you, soft and glowing. Pumpkin cinnamon latte and sugar candy lip gloss, it’s time to transition your skin into the cooler temperatures. The cooler weather means taking a different approach to your skincare. During the autumn and winter months, the air becomes drier. Aside from the drier outdoor air, wind, indoor heat and other factors can really dry out your skin.
As the season changes, so do we, and it’s all about the rEvolution! It’s the time of year to switch out your current summer skincare routine. Here is a handful of autumn beauty tips to get you in the mood for the most wonderful season of the year.
Let’s check out 5 tips for a perfect evolution into the sweetest season of the year.
1. Refresh
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Give Your Skin a Seasonal Reboot by exfoliating twice a week to save your skin from becoming dull and dehydrated during the autumn months.
Exfoliating regularly, helps to increase cellular regeneration and removes dead skin cells that can hinder the absorption of your daily cream and moisturizers.
When selecting a scrub, we recommend choosing one with natural exfoliants such as sugar, sea salt, chocolate or coffee. Why not also try an oil-based scrub that would also work for your elbows and feet. They will keep your skin hydrated, refreshed and radiant all year round.
2. Reboot.
Moisturize and Hydrate with a rich cream or serum, depending on your skin type.
Make sure you avoid any cosmetics that contain drying alcohol, as this strips your skin of moisture and can cause it to become dry and itchy. If you’ve never tried a facial oil before, now is the perfect time to invest. With a beautifully light, silky texture and an intense nourishing feel, facial oils are the ideal products to give your skin the edge against the elements. They are full of powerful plant oils like rosehip and sweet almond which create a protective barrier on your skin against aggressive environmental radicals, and lock-in moisture.
If your skin has lost its glow, try a pampering overnight treatment to nourish, plump and boost radiance. It’s perfect for sensitive skin which will be healed like magic: leave the product on overnight to get a glowing face and neck.
Don’t forget to also stay hydrated by drinking water, which helps your skin look its best.
3. Choose natural care
It can be tempting to reach for a tub of petroleum jelly to protect chapped lips and hands from the chill; however that innocent looking tub may not be as helpful as you think.
It is a by-product from the oil industry, and such products are not compatible with our skin. Always use a natural product that contains butters and oils to protect, nourish and repair the sensitive skin on your hands and lips.
We love beeswax products, sunflower and lavender to hydrate and prime our skin.
4. Get beautiful from within
How to make a big difference to your skin? By making small changes to your diet.
Drink more water, and take a daily natural supplement that will keep your skin supple. We recommend boosting your immune system in preparation for winter, with an all-green supplement that contains a bunch of antioxidants.
If you need a recommendation just ask our Dr. Costi.
5. Reclaim your supplies
Each season, you should go through your beauty products and throw out the old or expired products. Oh yes! We know, we all have that mascara from 3 years ago. Throw it! You’re your makeup brushes with warm soapy water and go out and buy new make-up, preferably natural, breathable and ecofriendly for a clean and fresh face!
Extra tip! Don’t forget to use sunscreen. Your face is still exposed to harmful UV rays, even when it isn’t sunny, so keep using your moisturizer with sunscreen.
Here you are! A fresh beauty ready for a change, for a new you. The world keeps changing and so should we! It’s time for our rEvolution.
