10 models’ skin care tips

With Paris fashion week just over, we’ve had our share of beautiful clothes and beautiful top models. And we’ve really gotten an eyeful, but you know that no matter the season, healthy skin is always in fashion.

How do the models do it? From catwalks, to photo shoots, to travelling the world, they have a thing or two to teach us about looking good. Not only do they function on little sleep and a fast-paced life, they manage to do it while looking stunning.

We wanted a closer look at their secrets and go-to tricks, so we examined 10 skin care secrets from famous models and cover girls.
Let’s see what you think of them.

1. The bad girl: Bella Hadid
Bella admitted that she sleeps in her make-up sometimes, “but I always wake up at two AM, freaking out and feeling completely guilty about it”.

She gets up, washes her face, moisturizes and goes back to sleep because waking up in the morning with make-up on is the most horrible feeling.
We totally agree.

2. The professional: Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth swears by exfoliation, for maintaining fresh-looking skin.
She uses an alpha and beta hydroxy acid mask every single day, which she leaves on until it tingles.

We appreciate the commitment, but this will highly depend on skin type.

3. The natural girl: Kendall Jenner
Kendall suffers from spots and blemishes, so she recommends applying a home-made formula: well-beaten egg white with juice from half a lemon, add baking soda and honey.

Leave on your face for 30 minutes before rinsing.

This is how it works: the ingredients provide acidity (the lemon and baking soda) to blast the spot, while also soothing the skin with a calming honey.
We recommend to use the most natural ingredients that you can find.

4. The sleepy girl: Carolyn Murphy
This veteran beauty recommends that to get a good night’s sleep, it is not allowed to use any devices with a blue screen (phones/computers) after 8pm, and no electronics in the bedroom. “The body needs to know it’s time to “turn off” and not have stimulation or disrupters”.

We tend to agree with this! (but what about Netflix?)

5. The old fashioned: Gigi Hadid
Since her mom showed her this trick when she was a teenager, Gigi has been doing the exact same thing to treat pimples. She puts a bit of toothpaste on the pimple at night before she goes to sleep, and sticks a piece of tissue to it.
The next day, she peels the paper off and washes with a warm towel, and the pimple comes off with it.

We’re kind of perplexed but it seems to be working fine for her!

6. The healthy star: Jennifer Aniston
Jen’s body is a temple: ‘you are what you eat’. She will only have healthy natural food, salads and lots of vegetable and protein. Never processed foods.
Just look at her, of course we agree.

7. The good girl: Bridget Malcolm
This Victoria’s secret model has got it down to a science: she follows a strict program. She eats well, drinks lots of water, sleeps well, and she believes this is what makes the most difference to your skin and skin tone.

She also uses supplements like Omega 3 and cooks with olive oil.

We have no comment!

8. The active girl: Adriana Lima
This beauty believes that sweating helps you keep your skin clear and glowing. She exercises, drinks a lot of water and gets her rest.

We do believe she’s picture perfect.

9. The diligent girl: Karlie Kloss
The best way to have clear skin? Keep it clean, do not pick at it, and get a facial once in a while. Especially at the end of the day, it is super important for Karlie to remove all the make-up and dirt that has layered up. She says this is her job, and she takes her job seriously.

Well done Karlie. Your skin is the one thing you wear every day, so it’s your duty to take good care of it.

10. The perfect traveler: Jessica Alba
Here’s a girl that Dr. Costi loves. When she’s travelling, Jessica always brings a sheet mask to wear on the plane. It’s super important to protect your skin while on the plane, and this is the best way to do it, otherwise you will get very dehydrated.

Whichever mask you choose, whether collagen or antioxidant, make sure they are the best you can find, with no synthetic fragrances.
We say Yes and everyone should do this!
